At Xcite we pride ourselves on the professional project management process applied to any project big or small. If you want a more detailed look at our project process please take a look at the brochure. As a snapshot here’s an outline timeline:
Here’s where we’ll work through the fine detail with you – understand your business model and just what will work best to deliver your objectives.
This stage will lock down all business and user requirements and resolve the final project scope in the form of a functional specification document.
Wireframes are drawn which take the approved specification and suggest the structure of your website and relationships between the pages. This way we can make simple changes easily and quickly before we move to the design phase.
Now we’re getting into the detail. We’ll agree exact specifications (both front-end and back-end) to be used to build the systems. All project teams (design and technical) work during this phase to realise the scope and requirements built into the agreed specification.
We will take the designs and build them to form the working skeleton model that is used to plan how the functionality integrates with the site.
Now we commence with the final technical development and systems integration portions of the project. This entire process may last several weeks, broken down into two-week sessions intended to complete key components in the priority order dictated by the project timescale.
The Test Phase is what is says. We execute a full suite of end-to-end tests intended to verify and validate the assumptions and agreed requirements. WAI/accessibility compliance tests will all be conducted to ensure the site is approved from our end.
With all internal testing complete we will upload the site to a live test location for you to approve. When you happy to go live we will request sign off on the project and you’re up and running!
