Security is crucial in today’s ever evolving digital age. With new threats being discovered every day we can’t be too careful with online security. Being secure online is as much the responsibility of the customer as it is for the developers of the system.
We take security very seriously when it comes to our online applications, using up-to-date tools and frameworks to best protect our customers from major vulnerabilities to their businesses and customers. Here are some of our useful tips for people worried about being secure whilst on the internet:
- Keep your passwords in one place (your head) rather than written down, change them regularly and use a variety of them for different accounts. Don’t worry if you forget one or two, if you setup your account properly, the majority of the time you can get it back by matching the details on your account.
- If the website doesn’t look up to scratch then don’t use it, chances are you will find what you want on hundreds of other websites, don’t use a dodgy website just because it’s easy and fast, this can lead to viruses or even worse, your private information being compromised.
- Use popular services, if you want to buy something that you’re going to enter your credit card details for, don’t try and buy it off an unknown source for a slightly cheaper price, why risk everything for the sake of a few pennies?
In all of our systems we store as little data as possible and where payment is concerned all credit card/personal details are entered on secure servers owned by the large banks and therefore the risk of someone getting hold of any information is extremely low.
Any personal data that has to be stored on our systems (passwords etc) are fully encrypted so that no one other than yourselves know what they are and with all of our websites we protect against the most common forms of hacking. But, if someone were able to maliciously attack our servers, we have remote and local backup storage so nothing can get lost.
